FOO FIGHTERS Join BLACK SABBATH’S GEEZER BUTLER For ‘Paranoic’ Birmingham Show

Legendary BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler JOINED FOO Fighters last night (Thursday June 27) at the Villa Park Stadium in his original hometown of Birmingham, United Kingdom to play SABBATH classical “Paranoid”.

In the introduction Butler to the public, FOO Fighters top dave grohl said: “He’s never seen a concert here. He never gave a concert here. So we thought, something special for us and hopefully special for him, we’d invite him to come and sing a song with us. Ladies and gentlemen , Geezer Butler FROM BLACK SABBATH.” A few seconds later, he repeated, “Let me say it again: Geezer Butler FROM BLACK SABBATH! Why not? Let’s make a song with Geezer? What do you say Chris (Shiflett, FOO Fighters guitarist)?”

In 2005, Grohl told those in Britain Total guitar magazine about Ozzy Osbourne– the look on the face: “I love you BLACK SABBATH. They have made an amazing contribution to music today. Almost every band that made it big in the 1990s owes a debt to them.”

FOO Fighters will continue their European tour with a headlining appearance at Hellfest in Clisson, France on Sunday (June 30).

Formed in the mid-1990s by ex NIRVANA members Grohl and Bed Smear, FOO Fighters have released 11 albums, including the most recent, “But here we are”which appeared in June 2023. The effort was the first by the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkinshis death and passing away Grohlhis mother.
