The Leeds keeper wants to leave and join their league rivals

With Leeds United set to undergo major changes this summer, one of their players is heading to join their rivals soon.

The Whites have failed to win promotion to the Premier League and a number of their players have been linked with an exit from Elland Road.

Crysencio Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, Archie Gray and several others are attracting the attention of Premier League clubs.

However, Jamie Shackleton could soon be leaving the club to join their Championship rivals.

After their recent relegation back to the Championship, the Blades will be looking to assemble a squad that can earn them promotion back to the top flight of English football.

And it seems they are looking to their Yorkshire rivals and possible promotion opponents to do so.

According to the Sheffield Star, Sheffield United are looking to take advantage of Shackleton’s reluctance to sign a new contract at Elland Road by luring him to Bramall Lane.

Next weekend marks the expiry of the Leeds utility player’s current contract at Elland Road, sparking furious competition for his services between the second-tier sides.

Leeds United are losing a crucial team player

Leeds will be disappointed to lose Shackleton, even though he never made a name for himself as a regular after coming through the club’s youth system in the 2018-19 campaign.

After all, they were in talks to extend his contract at Elland Road.

Shackleton, a versatile player with experience playing in midfield and full-back, will be added to Sheffield United’s line-up to give them further options.
