Liverpool John Lennon takes a pop at Manchester Airport after being voted Britain’s best

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has enjoyed a bit of fun with their rivals here in Manchester after receiving another nod in the travel industry.

Although Liverpool Airport may not be as large and busy as Manchester, Merseyside’s main terminal has been named as the best in Britain according to Which? for 2024and it is by no means the first time I have received the distinction.

Having received the same award in 2023 and being highly regarded by many other bodies for many years, it’s yet another thing for Scousers to be very proud of in their city, and rightly so. Manchester Airport he didn’t have a great week. As a result, the ever modest Liverpudlians were graceful in their victory…

Just kidding, they wasted no time putting together a short celebratory poster on their social media, which turned out to be a bit of a meme at Manchester Airport’s expense.

Touché, John Lennon – not the real one, obviously.

Yes, Manchester’s historic rivalry is fiercely fought as it is long-standing. As they rightly said, they have The Beatles, we have Oasis; they have Liverpool and Everton, we have City and United, but when it comes to airport experiences, they have a clear advantage.

Becoming the only airport in the UK with a five star rating from the world’s leading air travel information service in 2019, Liverpool John Lennon has maintained an excellent reputation since then, and the latest independent passenger survey found them to have a high level of overall satisfaction.

Which? surveyed more than 4,000 customers, with 83% labeling it a “first-class experience from start to finish” and also giving them top ratings for baggage pickup, passport control, baggage claim, staff , toilets and more. The single terminal also has a wait time of just 11 minutes to get through security.

Instead, they called The worst Manchester airport in the UK for 2023 and still in the UK top 10 for the longest waiting timeswith most Manc flyers agreeing that Terminals One and Three still need a significant upgrade after around £440m was invested in Q2 last year.

So yes, we can still make a strong case that we have music, food, football and more here in Manchester, but it’s fair to say that Liverpool John Lennon is currently the superior place to fly from.

Actually, Manchester Airport had to issue a mass apology passengers whose flights were delayed or canceled following a major power outage last week.

Hey, we can’t be good at everything, but we’ll get there.
