Police are naming two men accused of a series of robberies in Huddersfield’s Greenhead Park

Two men have been charged over a series of robberies in the Marsden and Greenhead Park area of ​​Huddersfield earlier this month.

It comes after a man was robbed at knifepoint in Greenhead Park last Thursday (June 20) – just days after robbers tried to rob a man twice in the space of minutes on Monday (June 17).




Paul Powell, 18, of Longwood Road, Huddersfield, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery between June 13 and 26. He was also charged with three counts of possession of a bladed article and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Samuel Shelton, 25, of Wheathouse Road, Huddersfield, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery between June 13 and 26 and two counts of driving while disqualified.

The two men have been remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today (Friday, June 28).

Officers from Kirklees District Crime Team, who are investigating these offences, say they are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed anything they believe may be linked to the string of robberies.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are making a special appeal for members of the public to check their CCTV or dash cams for any footage of a silver Audi A3 with distinctive black wing mirrors in the Marsden or Greenhead Park areas this time. .
