Cyclist dies after being hit by car in Dudley

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car in Dudley. The 20-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the collision in Duncan Edwards Way at around 10pm on Sunday (June 23).

West Midlands Police confirmed on Friday night that he has since died from his injuries. It is understood the collision involved a blue BMW 3 Series which was recovered a short time later.



Three men were arrested and later released on bail while police said they were continuing their enquiries. The force said they were “supporting their loved ones at this deeply distressing time”.

The full statement released by West Midlands Police said: “We have launched a new appeal for information after a cyclist who was hit by a car in Dudley has sadly died. A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a collision. in Duncan Edwards Way at around 10pm on Sunday (June 23).

“He has since died tragically and we are supporting his loved ones at this deeply distressing time. It is understood the collision involved a blue BMW 3 Series which was recovered a short time later. Three men have been arrested and later released on bail while our inquiries continue.

“Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is urging anyone with information, particularly dash cam footage, to contact us.
