Police release major update after paramedic and TV star’s girlfriend found dead in home

Police have said they do not believe anyone else was involved in the deaths of a TV star paramedic and his girlfriend who were found dead in a Hednesford home. Staffordshire Police confirmed today (June 28) that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the tragic death of 24-year-old Daniel Duffield, who was a paramedic for West Midlands Ambulance Service and starred in the film 999 : Channel 4’s On The Frontline and Lauren Evans. , 22.

The force initially launched a double murder investigation after the couple’s bodies were found inside the home during a “concern for welfare” notice on Tuesday. Autopsies have now taken place and a file is being prepared for the coroner.



Staffordshire Police said in a statement today: “We can now confirm that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of a woman and a man in Hednesford.” The force also said post-mortem examinations had been carried out.

The statement continued: “On Tuesday (June 25), we were alerted by our colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service who were at an address in Alpine Drive in Hednesford. Sadly, Lauren Evans, 22, from Bridgend, South Wales, and Daniel Duffield, 24, from Cannock, were found inside.

“The autopsy was completed today (Friday, June 28). The cause of death is a matter of investigation in due course. As we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths, a file is being prepared for the coroner. Specialist officers continue to support the families of those involved.”

The forensic examination continues at home. . Staffordshire Police also approached the Independent Police Conduct Office about the case due to “recent police contact”.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison, from our Major Investigations Department, said: “This incident has understandably devastated the families and loved ones of those involved.

“We would like to reiterate that the families have asked that their privacy be respected at this tragic time. Please respect this. And again, we’d like to remind you that speculation is unnecessary and hurtful to families – and can hinder our investigation.

“I would like to thank everyone who has given us information. We expect the scene to be cleared once we have completed all of our investigative work and forensic examination.”
