Man Utd explore most controversial signing in years as tactics to secure Leeds move revealed

Manchester United are the latest big-name club to make a move for young Leeds United prospect Archie Gray and TEAMtalk understands their interest has been registered alongside several other top clubs.

Leeds currently have one of the most exciting talents in England and are bracing themselves for offers from some of the country’s biggest clubs.

Gray is seen as a future England star and the talk of most of the Premier League’s top six and some European giants.

Sources claim Manchester United have spoken to Manchester City, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal about the teenage sensation. This would come as quite a shock given the clubs’ fierce rivalry, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his new team have their eye on the country’s top talent.

The teenager has established himself as a versatile player who is always ready to make a difference for his side and made 44 appearances for Leeds United last season, the majority of which came as a defender.

He may have only just turned 18, but Gray has already made more than 50 first-team appearances for the Whites, with interest in his services steadily increasing as he heads towards this milestone.

Having risen through the ranks at the club and being a Leeds fan since childhood, Manchester United would be an unlikely destination for Gray.

He has been a sensation at his boyhood club and supporters are desperate to see him stay beyond this summer and help the team return to the Premier League. This is a distinct possibility as sources have given us the 18-year-old’s current situation.

Manchester United are happily targeting Elland Road but could consider a move abroad

Firstly, he is extremely happy to be playing for the club he loves and fulfilling his dream of playing at Elland Road.

TEAMtalk can reveal that there is every possibility that he will stay, as he will only leave for the right opportunity and wants to make sure his next step is the right one.

That would be a problem for the Old Trafford outfit, who would likely be rejected by Leeds in the first place, as selling him to a rival would not be good for the supporters. Not only that, he’d probably turn down the Red Devils because he’s a Leeds fan and wouldn’t want to leave a bad taste in the mouths of the fans who adore him.

Chelsea are extremely keen and Gray has been in many conversations and could be someone they move for before the window closes. That will depend on results and they are also on course to add another midfielder as they push to complete a deal for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Arsenal and Manchester City have sent scouts to watch and have had conversations about Gray, but that is as far as their involvement at this stage.
