Sandwich’s recall map shows 14 states affected by the health warning

Tens of thousands of sandwich products sold in numerous US states have been recalled by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Sandwiches produced by Classic Delight have been voluntarily recalled due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful bacteria that can lead to food poisoning. Products were sold in the following states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The recall, which has now been given a Class II risk classification by the FDA, is still classified as ongoing after it was first initiated on June 10. According to the FDA’s definition, a Class II recall is issued when “a situation in which use of or exposure to an infringing product may cause temporary or reversible adverse medical consequences, or where the likelihood of serious adverse consequences to health is removed.”

  • Classic Delight Turkey & Cheese Sub Sandwiches — 1,417 boxes
  • Classic Turkey and Cheese Delight on Round Bun — 384 boxes
  • Classic Delight Twin Breaded Chicken Sliders — 1,767 boxes
  • Classic Delight Breaded Chicken Waffles — 644 boxes
  • Wakefield Pretzel Bacon Angus Cheeseburger — 1,032 cases
  • Wakefield Southern Chicken Biscuit – 1,474 cases
  • Wakefield Spicy Hawaiian Sliders — 1,173 boxes
  • Wakefield Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel — 2,311 boxes
  • Wakefield Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuits – 3,360 boxes
  • Wakefield Charbroiled Cheeseburger Kaiser Roll — 3,411 cases
  • Ham and Cheddar Bagel Wakefield Croissant — 1,323 boxes
  • Wakefield Chorizo ​​​​& Egg on Ciabatta — 908 boxes
  • Wakefield Ham, Egg & Cheese Muffins — 1,366 boxes
  • Wakefield Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissant — 3,214 boxes
  • Wakefield Bacon, Egg & Cheese Bagel — 2,663 boxes
  • Wakefield Sausage, Egg and Cheese Biscuits — 4,091 cases
  • Wakefield Sausage Egg Muffins — 3,255 cases
  • Wakefield Charbroiled Cheeseburger – 1,626 cases
  • Wakefield Chicken & Cheese Kaiser Roll — 1,250 boxes
  • Wakefield Blazin’ Chicken Kaiser Roll — 1,477 cases
  • Wakefield Bacon Cheeseburger Kaiser Roll — 1,079 cases
  • Wakefield Sausage & Egg Pancake — 3,102 boxes
  • Classic Delight Chili Cheese Dogs — 20,817 cases
  • Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffins — 16,572 cases

Listeria is a bacteria that can contaminate food and drink and cause food poisoning. Although anyone can get sick once infected, young children, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems are most at risk. It can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Those with a more persistent and severe infection may experience symptoms such as headache, neck stiffness, loss of balance, confusion and seizures.
