Man fighting for life after being found with serious head injuries in Croydon

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was found in Croydon in the early hours of this morning with a serious head injury.

Baffled detectives are appealing for “the tiniest bit of information” to find out how the 36-year-old was injured after he was found near East Croydon Box Park in Dingwall Road.

Police were called to a south London hospital at 5.13am on Tuesday after the man was admitted and tests revealed he had suffered a serious brain injury.

The man, described as white and between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall, was last seen leaving his flat at around 11pm on Monday. He left his home wearing a black coat, turquoise hooded top, brown baseball cap and white sneakers.

DC Paul Harakis from the Southern Area Command said: “We are appealing for anyone with information about what happened last night to come forward.

“If you were in the area of ​​Dingwall Road and Wellesley Road, East Croydon, between 11pm on Monday 17 May and 12.30am on Tuesday 18 May and saw anything, however insignificant you may think it is, we urge you to come redirect.

“This man is in hospital with serious injuries. The slightest bit of information could help us find out what happened to him.”
