“Woke” culture isn’t just annoying, it’s toxic. It silences debate and turns common sense on its head. We must push back against this nonsense and support free speech and rational thought.

When the government raises taxes, it is to cover its own failures. You shouldn’t have to pay for ineffective management. I believe in fiscal discipline and debt reduction, ensuring our economy thrives on productivity and innovation.

Uncontrolled immigration is not just a topic of discussion; it is a reality that affects our services, housing and safety. We need sensible immigration policies that work for everyone, not just for the sake of political correctness.

Israel is a vital part of the Middle East, having every right to defend itself when attacked. I support Israel’s right to pursue victory and secure peace for its people.

I’ve lived and worked all over the world — from the US to Italy, Luxembourg and the UK. This makes me a global citizen with a touch of Italian cool, a touch of Latin groove, American energy and a touch of English reserve. I’m a duck to water in London.

To the radical left, everything sensible seems “far-right,” whether it’s free markets or gender recognition. I support the values that really matter to our community. Even my photo might suggest to the left eye that I’m either a televangelist or a Republican congressman. In fact, I am here to serve you with integrity and a Jewish sense of humor.

Thank you for your support.

You can read an overview of the contest here and statements from six of the other candidates as follows: Alex Deane – Conservative, Brendan Donnelly – Re-enter the EU, Sarah Hoyle – Liberal Democrats, Katharine Murphy – Women’s Party, Steve Parsons – Green Party and Sarah Sackman – Work.

Barnett Post reached out to independent candidate Michael Shad for a statement, but did not receive one.

Note: The Barnet Post approached all candidates for the borough seats and gave them the opportunity to make a 250 word statement. The purpose of these statements is to give voters the clearest possible understanding of the prospects of the people they are asking for their support. In doing so, we acknowledge that some views have caused me offense and upset, and we apologize if this is the case.
