LIVE: Armed police descend on Salford Street in a cordon

Armed police descended on a road in Salford this evening with a cordon in place.

Officers searched Gladstone Road in Eccles on Friday night (June 28). The exact nature of the incident is currently unclear.

Footage shows several police cars stationed at the junction of Liverpool Road and Gladstone Road, with a number of officers stationed at the scene.

At the moment it is not known when the road will be reopened.
