The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has proven to be both a reliable machine that won’t break the bank and a great platform for customization. Many workshops have so far tried to reinterpret the pattern in their own unique ways, and the results are often spectacular in the truest sense of the word. Case in point: this gorgeous retro scrambler, created by BAAK Motocyclettes.

Remi Reguin and his team have done just the right amount of custom work here to give the INT650 some off-road capability and make it more suitable for longer rides. The bike was built as a demo for their Interceptor customization program, and a similar machine can be yours for around €12,000 ($12,820 at current exchange rates).

This is an interesting proposition, to be sure, but all the parts used here can also be bought individually from BAAK’s aftermarket catalog. Having said that, let’s go ahead and examine what this Royal Enfield hybrid is all about. The donor bike for this particular conversion was nearly new, and Remi’s specialists quickly dismantled it upon arrival at their facility. A good deal of OEM hardware was abandoned in the process.

Items like the stock seat, muffler, and lighting equipment were all found in BAAK’s sights, but so were the fenders and various other accessories. The front end of the Interceptor now houses a sleek fiberglass fairing and twin headlights with distinctive retro vibes. Aluminum mounting hardware was used to secure these goodies in place, similar to the high-mounted front fender placed below.

The mudguard is made of stainless steel for durability. Further back, in the cockpit area, we notice the CNC-machined risers that support a new handlebar, which is equipped with Biltwell grips and thin rearview mirrors. Heading south, you’ll still see the original INT650 fuel tank worn by this specimen, but it now sports a pair of kneepads for both comfort and visual appeal.

Behind the stock tank sits a custom bench with plenty of padding, flanked by aluminum side covers to fill out the subframe triangle. At the rear, one can also find a circular LED tail lamp sitting atop the subframe tube, just above a discreet rear wing and a compact license plate holder. There is a stylish bag placed on the right side, but the mounting hardware for this setup is also present on the left side.

All of the aforementioned equipment is supported by aftermarket mufflers, and the exhaust pipes terminate in lightweight aluminum mufflers. Dual-purpose rubber and a gorgeous green color round out the finish here, making the whole package come together nicely. This mixed up Interceptor 650 is a real stunner from every angle and some dirt marks make it look even better as you can see from these photos.
