The launch of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been confirmed on 17th July

After several spy shots, Royal Enfield has finally confirmed that the Guerrilla 450 will be launched on July 17. This information was revealed on social media accompanied by a photo, and after initial impressions, we believe that the upcoming bike will be quite sharp.

Based on the same platform that already houses the current-generation Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, the RE Guerrilla 450 will also power the new ‘Sherpa 450’ engine, which is the brand’s first liquid-cooled engine with ride-by-wire throttle control.

This engine has already been praised by all for the performance it brings to the table. And while on the Himalayan 450, this mill is good for 39 PS/ 40 Nm, the Royal Enfield could retain the same power, albeit with subtle changes to the final drive to suit the roadster’s features.

The underpinnings of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 but with some cuts to keep the cost under control. So the trellis frame architecture of the roadster here will be suspended by conventional telescopic forks with the same rear monoshock. Furthermore, since it will be a road-oriented motorcycle, unlike the Himalayan 450 which rides on 21/17-inch wheels, the Guerrilla 450 is expected to ride on 17-inch/17-inch alloy wheels. However, the wheels are shod with dual-purpose tires with block-pattern rubber, which is kind of an indication that RE might design this bike as a scrambler as well.

Beyond that, subtle changes will also be attributed to hardware and software. Just as the seats could be upgraded for a softer option to suit the roadster’s purpose, and the single-pod all-digital instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps could be a smaller unit than what we see it on the Himalayan 450. However, the New LED headlight that debuted with the Super Meteor 650 will continue as is.

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will slot under the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. We expect it to be priced between INR 2.30 and INR 2.50 (ex-showroom). For more information on the bike, watch this space as we will be cycling in Barcelona, Spain soon. So stay tuned.
