Medium speed cameras are available in the A38 Saltash Tunnel.

The new 30mph limit is enforced on the route between Cornwall and Devon.

The 35-year-old A38 tunnel has undergone a £20m ‘generational’ makeover, involving a tunnel upgrade & Traffic control system, electrical distribution, lighting, fans and electronic signaling.

As part of its commitment to safety and air quality, National Highways has reduced the speed limit on the A38 between the Saltash Tunnel and the Carkeel roundabout.

The speed limit has been reduced from 70mph to 50mph, with average speed cameras installed to enforce the 30mph limit through the tunnel and on the B3271 and North Road diversion routes.
