Key details of Jack Harrison transfer emerge as Leeds United winger closes Everton switch

It is only a matter of time before Jack Harrison’s return to Everton is officially announced. The Leeds United winger is set to return to Goodison Park for a second consecutive season.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed today that a deal has been agreed for Harrison. Romano claims Harrison will join Everton on a season-long loan but with no option to buy. However, the Toffees consider Harrison part of their long-term plans and will look to sign him permanently “in due course”.

Romano posted on his X account: “Jack Harrison new Everton player as all paperwork now signed – we’re confirmed here. A new exclusive detail: it’s a loan move from Leeds United, with no option to buy… but to make it permanent in due course is a real possibility. Sealed deal.”

Harrison established himself as a regular last year as the Toffees avoided the drop. He made 29 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, scoring three goals.

The former England Under-21 international is under contract at United until 2028. He first joined the club six years ago on loan from Manchester City. It was made a permanent switch in 2021.

The 27-year-old has made 190 league appearances for the Whites. A member of the squad that won Marcelo Bielsa’s 2020 promotion, Harrison was one of the senior players who left on loan last summer following the club’s relegation to the Championship.
