Rail passengers have been delayed by criminals on the line

West Midlands Railway posted on social media at around 5.22pm on Saturday to inform travelers of trespassers on the line between Birmingham New Street and Smethwick Rolfe Street and that the line had been blocked.

A spokesman for West Midlands Railway said: “Offenders between Birmingham New Street and Smethwick Rolfe Street

“Due to criminals on the railway between Birmingham New Street and Smethwick Rolfe Street, some lines are blocked.”

A further update at 5.48pm said services may be delayed due to offenders.

A West Midlands Railway spokesman said: “Offenders between Birmingham New Street and Smethwick Rolfe Street

“Because of criminals on the railway between Birmingham New Street and Smethwick Rolfe Street. Services may be delayed.”
