Armley: Leeds Mission Open Afternoon

Armley: Leeds Mission Open Afternoon

A leading charity based in Armley is holding an open afternoon on Saturday (June 29). Leeds City Mission opens its headquarters to visitors.

The mission, in Mistress Lane (at the end of Town Street), is holding a summer social and sale. There will be tables with a variety of used books and DVDs.

Visitors can choose their choice based on “give as you feel”. There will also be a pop-up hybrid charity shop for the afternoon, with bric a brac and clothes. All money raised will go towards the various compassionate projects undertaken by City Mission amongst the needy people of West Leeds.

Complimentary ice cream plus teas, coffees and soft drinks will be available throughout the afternoon, which runs from 2.30pm to 4pm.

Refreshments will be served on the adjacent grassy area where people can mingle. People can chat and enjoy the sun around tables on the grass shaded by trees, as well as browse inside the center.

Leeds City Mission is a multi-church Christian agency that has worked with marginalized people since 1837 and seeks to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of the people of Leeds. Further details are available from Leeds City Mission on 0113 345 3118.
