Chelsea can offer Leicester three players in return to beat Brighton with Dewsbury-Hall | Football | Sports

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Leicester ace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in a bid to thwart Brighton’s pursuit of the midfielder. The 25-year-old appeared to be heading for the AMEX Stadium, with reports suggesting Seagulls midfielder Jakub Moder would be heading in the opposite direction.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is keen on a reunion with Dewsbury-Hall after working with the Englishman during his solitary campaign in charge at the King Power Stadium and the Blues are said to have made a formal bid for the ace on Friday.

And Express Sport takes a look at the three Chelsea stars Maresca could dangle in front of his former employers to convince them to sanction Dewsbury-Hall’s departure to Stamford Bridge should the 2015 Premier League champions/ 16 reject the first offer.

Armando Broja

Leicester will need firepower if they are to enjoy a successful season on their return to the Premier League. And Chelsea could feature Armando Broja, who fell out of favor at Stamford Bridge.

Broja has been tipped to play at the top of the game after enjoying a successful loan spell with Southampton three seasons ago. But he failed to start after suffering a serious ACL injury at the end of 2022.

The 22-year-old could fight to force his way into Chelsea’s squad next season and could relish the chance to prove his Premier League worth once again in the East Midlands.

Trevoh Chalobah

Should Leicester prefer defensive reinforcements, Chelsea could instead offer them Trevoh Chalobah in exchange for Dewsbury-Hall.

The 24-year-old centre-back looked set to have a big future at Stamford Bridge after starring in Frank Lampard’s first spell in the dugout.

But he has fallen out of favor in recent years and started just 10 Premier League games under Mauricio Pochettino last season. He is another player who would surely love to revive his career elsewhere.

Robert Sanchez

Last time Leicester were in the Premier League, they battled between the sticks as Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen split the minutes but flattered to deceive when they had chances to impress.

Leicester were much more solid defensively last season after bringing in goalkeeper Mads Hermansen from Brondy as they conceded just 41 goals in 46 league games.

While the Dane has been backed to flourish in the Premier League, Leicester would certainly welcome the addition of experienced top-flight goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who played for Brighton before moving to Stamford Bridge. The 26-year-old has fallen behind Djordje Petrovic in the pecking order in west London anyway, meaning the Blues could afford to offload him and bring in new support.
