Plans to convert underused offices into five flats for ‘contemporary young professionals’ in Pudsey town center have been submitted to Leeds City Council for consideration.

The offices sit above existing shops and businesses on Lidget Hill and will be converted into one and two-bedroom flats by Douglas West of Headingley-based ATC Properties Ltd.

A design and planning statement accompanying the application says the existing office space has been difficult to lease for several years.

“The proposal will make a positive contribution to the Pudsey Conservation Area, transforming a vacant and disused building and providing much-needed modern and contemporary young professional accommodation,” the design statement adds.

There are no parking or cycle spaces provided for the existing offices and none will be provided for the new flats, but the applicants say there is direct bus access directly outside the building.
