Car crashes through brick wall near Wiltshire petrol station

A car crashed through a brick wall near a petrol station in Chippenham.

Wiltshire Police were called to the crashed Vauxhall shortly after 10.15am on Tuesday June 18, along with the ambulance and fire service.

Wiltshire Specialist Operations initially shared the crash on their social media.

The post reads: “You can’t park there sir! The RPU (road policing unit), fire brigade and ambulance (as a precaution) responded to this non-injury collision in Chippenham.

“The details are changed. It will be an interesting recovery.”

Police and the ambulance service released details of their response to the incident, where no serious injuries were reported.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham shortly after 10.15am on June 18 following a report that a Vauxhall Meriva had crashed into a wall near the petrol station.

“The driver was not seriously injured. The recovery of the vehicle was arranged.”

A South Western Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 10.14am on Tuesday 18 June to an incident in Chippenham.

“We dispatched a double-crew ground ambulance to the scene.”
