A52 crash kills driver and leaves another in hospital

A man has died in a two-car crash in Leicestershire which left a road closed for around six hours.

The crash – involving a blue Citroen C4 Picasso and a purple Citroen C3 Picasso – happened at around 10.35pm BST on Friday, close to where the A52 meets Grantham Road in Bottesford.

The driver of the purple car was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in Nottingham, where he remains in a stable condition.

Leicestershire Police has appealed for witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage relevant to the investigation.
