‘Especially Leicester’ – Foxes make contact to sign Rwandan international, deal could be completed for €5m

Leicester City are one of the clubs pictured signing Hakim Sahabo from Standard Liège in the summer window, according to a report in Belgium.

The 19-year-old joined the Belgian club last summer, and after initially being part of their youth team, he was given opportunities in the first team. He finished his debut season with 18 appearances for the Jupiler Pro League side.

According to L’Avenir, the midfielder has attracted interest from Eintracht Frankfurt, TSG Hoffenheim and ‘especially Leicester’.

It is claimed that the Foxes have made contact with Standard Liège to inquire about the player’s situation, but have yet to make a formal offer.

Standard Liège would like to keep the Rwandan international. If there is an interesting offer, the report claims the Belgian club could struggle to keep hold of the player, who has a deal that runs until 2026 with an option for a further year.

In this case, L’Avenir claim that Standard Liège would hope to earn €5 million plus bonuses for the midfielder.

Leicester have already made contact and been told the fee that Standard Liège are proposing to sell Sahaba this summer.
