Live updates as traffic has stopped on the M1 in Leicestershire due to the accident

A “multi-vehicle” crash on the M1 in Leicestershire has brought traffic to a standstill on the route. National Highways East Midlands said traffic was stopped on the southbound route between J21a A46 for Kirby Muxloe and J21 M69 for Leicester this afternoon (Sunday 12 May).

He said the recovery of the vehicles had been arranged. It said there are currently 30 minute delays on approach.
