Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Matthijs de Ligt ‘top target’ Greenwood exit talks, Zirkzee release clause – updates

Greenwood deal ‘complicated’

Mason Greenwood’s move to Marseille is ‘very complicated’, according to reports.

French publication L’Equipe have poured cold water on the transfer taking place after Man Utd and the Ligue 1 club were locked in talks.

The report adds that Marseille’s supporters have launched a protest on social media against his signing after he was accused of domestic violence.

Greenwood was cleared of all charges.

Interest in left back

Man Utd have reportedly inquired about Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez, according to reports in Italy.

Relevo claims the Red Devils are one of a number of clubs chasing the defender.

However, any deal could be complicated.

His former club Real Madrid still own 50% of the players’ rights and can exercise a buy-back option for around £6.8m.

Any other club will have to play up to £30m.

It is not known whether Real Madrid will exercise this option.

De Ligt boost

Bayern Munich’s Matthijs De Ligt has told the club he wants to leave.

The Dutch defender fell out of favor at the end of the last campaign.

And now, with the signings of Kim Min Kae and Jonthan Tah, playing time could be even rarer.

The HITC report Bayern could even sanction a loan with an obligation to buy.

Ugarte approach

Man Utd have made a fresh approach to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG.

The Uruguayan was tracked by the Red Devils last summer before opting for a move to Paris in a £50million deal.

Fabrizio Romano adds that the midfielder is interested in a move to Old Trafford despite the club missing out on Champions League football.

The departure of the ears

Man Utd have wished Mary Earps all the best after she left the club.

The England goalkeeper will join PSG this summer after his contract expired.

Keane’s apology to Maguire

ROY KEANE has revealed he has apologized to Harry Maguire – and admitted he was completely wrong about the Manchester United star.

Keane said on The Overlap: Stick to Football special: “I’ve been tough on Harry Maguire for footballing reasons and obviously we do a lot of games with United.

“He struggled at United, he had a tough time with England – but more so at club level.

“We’re talking about players’ mental health and we’ve crossed the line with Maguire – we’ve taunted him a bit and it’s not nice.

“I’ve played the game, I know how hard it is, but I’m also pretty big…I bumped into Harry a few months ago and I apologized.

“Sometimes as experts we get it wrong, but there’s a point where you go, if it’s personal, then you cross the line.”
