Fishpond land set up for housing up for auction at £50,000

A plot of land previously earmarked for housing is being auctioned for £50,000. The land occupies a prominent position on the corner of Sheppard Road and Ronayne Walk in Fishponds.

The land has been cleared and fenced by the current owner, who has recently renovated the adjoining property. Hollis Morgan Auction will attempt to sell the lot on Wednesday, July 24 for £50,000.

Its brochure states that the land has “residential development scope subject to obtaining the necessary consents”.

Its previous owner sought to build two two-bedroom houses with two parking spaces and rear gardens on this land and another section in October 2022. The planning application was refused in October 2023 due to concerns that it would be “a unsociable, too prominent and incongruous. plus” to the area.

A second application to build a three-bedroom property was submitted shortly after but was withdrawn in February this year. Despite the failures of the previous owner, Hollis Morgan Auction believes that an application sympathetic to the local area could be successful.

Hollis Morgan Auction states that the land “occupies a quiet residential position in the heart of Fishponds”, close to the popular “Strait”, with a range of shops, pubs and cafes within walking distance.
