Over 130 Golden Retrievers will meet for a mass meeting in Cornwall

Hundreds of Cornish Golden Retrievers are coming together for a mass meeting this June!

Organized by Cornwall and Devon Golden Retrievers, the £5 event will take place at Charwell Adventure Park, near Callington, on June 25 between 11am and 2pm.

With over 130 Golden Retrievers already signed up, the meeting is the fourth of its kind and is only available to members of the Cornwall and Devon Golden Retrievers Facebook page.

The group has approximately 1,800 members, with dogs and owners meeting regularly at various locations across the two counties. Space is very limited, so you’ll have to ask soon if you want to attend.

Speaking to ITV News, organizer Dee Johnson says: “My and my husband’s six girls (who are six generations of girls) are like our children. We also have seven grown children, but they all flew the nest a few years ago. they have nine grandchildren.

“From experience, it takes a certain type of person to own a golden retriever. They are usually very warm, kind, caring and friendly. My best friends are goldie owners.”

The money raised will be donated to Irish Retriever Rescue – a non-profit rescue charity that rehomes unwanted, rescued or abandoned Golden Retrievers.
