POLICE were called to a man climbing a fence near an airport and made an arrest.

West Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public at 3.53pm on Wednesday who reported that a man had been seen climbing a fence near Leeds Bradford Airport in Yeadon.

Police attended the scene and a man was arrested in a nearby field outside the airport perimeter.

He was detained on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesman.

“Police received a call from a member of the public reporting that a man had been seen climbing a fence near Leeds Bradford Airport.

“Officers attended the scene and a man was detained in a nearby field outside the airport perimeter on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

“The report was received today at 15:53 ​​(6/26).”
