The original Married At First Sight groom has died at 33

Married at First Sight New Zealand reality TV star Andrew Jury has sadly passed away aged 33. Andrew was one of the original groomsmen from the first season in 2017.

Angel and co-stars Brett Renall and Benjamin Blackwell announced their deaths in a joint Instagram post. They said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we come together to acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury.




“We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show that will leave us connected for a lifetime. Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our experience together and truly appreciated his time on the show.

“At this time, the entire cast would like to send their deepest condolences and love to his family – Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke, Belinda.”

Andrew was paired with bride Vicky Gleeson-Stokes on the show. They made it to the end of the show, but broke up after filming ended, BirminghamLive reported.

Warner Bros Discovery, which airs Married At First Sight in New Zealand, expressed its “deepest condolences” to Andrew’s family and friends. In a statement to the New Zealand Herald, they said: “WBD takes its duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the welfare of cast and crew.

“All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production and post-broadcast.” The Auckland builder had previously warned other Kiwis not to go on the show because they would “mess up”.
