The man who blocked the streets of the city center is suspected of being a thief

A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after blocking off two streets in Liverpool city center today.

Dale Street was closed from the junction of North John Street earlier on Sunday (June 30) after receiving a report of concern for the man’s safety at 10.59am. Merseyside Police, ambulance and fire services – as well as specialist negotiators – attended the scene.

The man was standing in a precarious situation on the ledge of a window on the third floor of a building. Negotiators were able to coax the man to safety and he was later arrested on suspicion of burglary.
