Tributes have been left at the scene when a 10-year-old girl was found dead at her Rowley Regis home

Tributes have been left at the site of a house in the West Midlands where a 10-year-old girl was found dead on Monday.

Tributes and teddy bear cards were left at the property in Robin Close, Rowley Regis in Sandwell, where the youngster was found injured just after lunch.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes include a Minnie Mouse doll, a plush unicorn and a card that says “Thinking of you, rest in peace.”

A 33-year-old woman, who police said was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remanded in custody for questioning.

West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Dan Jarratt said: “A young woman has tragically lost her life and our thoughts are with her loved ones and all those affected by this terrible death.

“We know how shocking and painful this will be for the community and we will continue to have a police presence and support in the area over the coming days.

“A suspect has been arrested and detectives are fully investigating the circumstances surrounding this sad death.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 12pm to an incident at a private address in Rowley Regis. Two ambulances and a paramedic went to the scene.

“On arrival we found a patient. Unfortunately, it was clear that nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead by ambulance staff at the scene.”

A police cordon and police officers remained at the scene.
