Man United attempt £50m move for Michael Olise as Bayern Munich position emerges

Manchester United are reportedly still trying to get Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise to sign for the club.

With Erik ten Hag trusted to overcome last season’s difficulties, the support of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS in the transfer market will prove vital to any progress. One transfer they have been linked with to start the summer in style has been Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, however all signs have pointed to the player moving to Bayern Munich in a £50m deal.

But with that move still not set in stone, United and other rivals are rumored to be doing everything in their power to sneak up and pry the Frenchman under manager Vincent Kompany’s nose.

That’s the word from Sky in Germany, with Florian Plettenberg saying many teams, directly naming United as part of their claim, are hoping to complete a diversion. However, the reporter ultimately states that Olise’s move to Bayern is the one he wants most over the others; he will sign his five-year contract, and with both clubs involved committed to finalizing details, he is not in danger at this stage.

Time is therefore running out for United and any other suitors, with the 22-year-old due to arrive in Germany next week to undergo a medical ahead of the switch.

When the rumors started, the other English rivals said to be interested in Olise were Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. The former would have made a financially competitive bid to Bayern, although he snubbed the Blues in favor of the Bundesliga.
