Bristol Cafe is opening a new location on the Christmas Steps

A Bristol cafe has opened a new venue on the iconic Christmas Steps. Dareshack first opened its multi-purpose art venue on Wine Street in October 2020 in a former Starbucks, and has since expanded into an adjacent building with 4,000 square feet of concert and creative event space.

And now the team behind the venue have opened their latest site at Number 4 Christmas Steps. Posting a photo of their new store with a ‘now open’ sign, an Instagram post on June 3 read: ‘Ready to roll! We are so excited to join the local community in the Christmas Steps Arts Quarter with our first cafe concept”.

In 2022, BristolLive reported that staff at Dareshack on Wine Street were on a mission to “unleash creative opportunity” through the specialty coffee they served, raising funds for local projects “one cup at a time”.

According to its website, which is currently in development, Dareshack describes itself as a “coffee-fueled creative studio” and lists a number of events – sometimes even weekly – mainly involving live music that you can buy tickets for here. Since opening the first location, the 14-capacity studio space has also hosted photo shoots, shoots and workshops.

His Instagram page previously advertised faces for a new web series and has promoted his own merchandise, collaborations and more over the years. He has even hosted TEDX talks for the University of Bristol.

Taking to the comments section, customers were quick to share their excitement at a new Dareshack location opening in the Christmas Steps area. A restaurant said: “Welcome to the area! I look so beautiful. Thanks for our coffee today.”

A second wrote: “Congratulations. So much work. Looks beautiful.” While a third called it a “mega move” and others said they “couldn’t wait” to visit.
