Police are looking for a suspect, investigating alleged hate crimes after two synagogues were vandalized

TORONTO — Police in Toronto say they are investigating a pair of alleged hate crimes after two synagogues in the city were vandalized early Sunday morning.

They claim that a person, who they have not yet identified, threw stones through the windows of a synagogue around 3am before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.

About half an hour later, police say a rock was thrown through the window of another Jewish place of worship.

Police say the same suspect is responsible for both attacks.

The suspect is described as between 5’7 and 5’9, wearing a light-colored jacket and a black helmet with a visor.

Police say residents can expect to see an increased police presence near synagogues.
