Live as Sheffield trains face disruption after lorry crashes into bridge

Train services in Sheffield are experiencing cancellations and delays as we head into rush hour.

National Rail has warned of delays and cancellations to services from Sheffield to both Nottingham and Derby after a lorry collided with a railway bridge near Chesterfield.




National Rail said the disruption is expected to last until 6.30pm tonight (Monday 1 July). Services will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised during this period.

The truck crashes into the bridge at Chesterfield

Trains from Sheffield to Nottingham and Derby are experiencing delays after a lorry crashed into a railway bridge in Chesterfield.

A National Rail spokesman said: “A vehicle hitting a bridge between Dronfield and Chesterfield means all lines are blocked. As a result, services will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised. Disruptions are expected until 6:30 p.m.”
