Student issues warning about chemical burns around private parts after using hair removal cream to spice up sex life

A student was left in agony with chemical burns after an allergic reaction to hair removal cream he used in a desperate attempt to spice up his love life. Nate Hill, 39, decided to give the under-the-belt cream a try after his other half suggested it could add a bit of lust to their bedroom antics.

However, the plan backfired spectacularly when, moments after slathering on the cream, the ex-serviceman suffered a horrific burn. He described the agony as surpassing the pain of being scalded with hydraulic fuel during his time at an RAF base.

Nate, who is studying for a masters in neuroscience and is from Kirkby, Liverpool, rinsed the cream off as quickly as he could but ended up nursing a blistered and tender groin for weeks. In a twist of fate, rather than heating things up, the accident led to a complete sex embargo until she recovered.

The father-of-two said: “I had my leg amputated in October 2022 and things were stagnant between us in the bedroom after that. My partner at the time suggested we spice things up and I was game.

“He mentioned he would like it if I was less hairy – I thought ‘hair grows back, why not?’ I did everything by the book, but as soon as I put the cream on, I felt this horrible burning sensation. i washed it off immediately but was in agony for days afterwards – Sudocrem, ice packs and frozen peas became my new best partners.

Nate said that despite using a cream made for “sensitive” skin, he ended up with blisters that caused his skin to peel for more than a week, requiring constant applications of Sudocrem. The ordeal resulted in permanent discoloration in the groin area.

He also noticed that when the hair did come back, it came back irregularly “as if some of the follicles had been burned” and the hair never returned to its previous state.

He concluded: “It was really bad – I slapped him with a sex ban afterwards.”
