Passenger numbers increased by 12% at the airport in June

The Government’s re-introduction of a limit on liquids over 100ml has caused problems for Birmingham, with queues often snaking around terminals at peak times of the day.

The airport handled 4,069 departures and 4,084 arrivals during the month.

The top three destinations for people flying from Birmingham in June were Palma, Mallorca; Dublin and Amsterdam.

The airport continues to see passenger growth as it recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, with new routes being added by operators.
