Tottenham close in on Archie Gray, Chelsea ‘set to sign £30m Dewsbury-Hall’ Anthony Gordon latest

Why Olise preferred Bayern

Michael Olise rejected Manchester United and Chelsea for two reasons.

According to The Telegraph , Olise has been persuaded to join Bayern from Crystal Palace following talks with new manager Vincent Kompany.

The same report adds that the prospect of playing Champions League football was also a factor behind the winger’s decision.

Something that United and Chelsea cannot offer as they will be playing in the Europa League and Europa Conference League respectively next season.

Rumors by Anthony Gordon

Newcastle were reportedly ‘ready to sell’ Anthony Gordon to Liverpool this week.

According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies were willing to cash in on Gordon as they “struggle to meet financial regulations”.

The same source claimed the Toon were open to selling the forward before June 30.

The deal with the Reds was said to “include defenseman Jarell Quansah going the other way” but “wasn’t the right fit” for the Reds.

Archie Gray joins Tottenham

Archie Gray has completed his medical and signed for Tottenham from Leeds.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Gray will play for Spurs next season and not Brentford as originally expected.

The versatile midfielder wanted to sign for the Bees but that deal fell through due to a disagreement over the payment structure.

The North Londoners returned for the 18-year-old with a bid of £40m.

The England Under-21 international is set to put pen to paper with Ange Postecoglou’s side pending an official announcement.

The ox returns

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set for a return to English football.

According to reports, Besiktas have signed the former Arsenal midfielder.

And now Sheffield United are interested in signing him.

Southampton could also offer Oxlade-Chamberlain a return to the Premier League.

The Mbappe shirt problem

Kylian Mbappe is now officially a Real Madrid player.

The 25-year-old’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired on Sunday, meaning his new contract with Los Blancos becomes active today.

Mbappe announced his move to Spain last month, penning a five-year deal with the LaLiga giants.

However, fans cannot currently purchase a shirt with his name on it.

Those who tried to customize a shirt with his name on it were met with a message that read: “This player’s name and number are not available for customization at this time. Please stay tuned for updates!”

Other variants – including Kylian Mbappé, K. Mbappé, K-Mbappé and Kylian – are also unavailable.

Saints seal the deal with the point guard

Southampton have confirmed the signing of Taylor Harwood-Bellis on a four-year deal from Man City.

The 22-year-old centre-back joined on loan from City last summer, playing a key role as the club sealed promotion back to the Premier League.

That triggered a clause in the deal that allowed his move to become permanent, with Harwood-Bellis’ new deal starting today.

He said: “It’s no secret how much I enjoyed being here last season, so I’m delighted to officially become a Southampton player ahead of the new season.

“The feeling of getting this club back into the Premier League and playing in front of these fans week in and week out was amazing.

“I’ve learned a lot in the last two years and developed so much as a player and as a person. To have the opportunity now to represent this club in the Premier League is really special and I can’t wait to get going and see all the boys again.”
