LONG JUMP — Friends and families gathered for Canada Day fun at the Lost Villages Museum in South Stormont, patriotically munching on red and white strawberry social cakes.

“It’s delicious strawberry shortcake, great barbecue, fun entertainment and things for the whole family. It’s not too crowded, which is nice for the little ones, to have space to run around,” said Alyssa Ouimet, who was at the event with her family.

Live music, a fashion show, local artisans, a children’s train ride, lawn games and more entertained guests of all ages. Late morning and early afternoon performers included Ed & Marie, The Neighbors and Kevin Rivette, playing some calm and uplifting tunes.

“It’s great weather, great crowd and everyone seems to be having a good time. We are very happy,” said Gloria Waldroff, volunteer and event organizer.
