Shock for tourists as the van gets stuck between the hotel and the ditch

It seems like an unconventional way to unload a vehicle, but a white man with a van is lucky to be alive after flipping his engine and landing it vertically on a hotel.

The driver hit the truck which landed nose down and got stuck between the back of the building and a grass bank.

Hotel guests looked down and saw the vehicle stuck between the bank and the building with the trunk open.

Simon Hill, owner of the White House Inn near Newquay, Cornwall, said there were no guests on the other side of the wall where the van crashed on Saturday.

He said: “We believe he swerved left to avoid a car, hit the grass verge, ricocheted and then caught the front of another car.

“It toppled right over our hedge and got stuck in the wall. Fortunately, they all had their seat belts on. All were well, which was a bit of a miracle.

“It could have been very dangerous if there had been anyone in that room. They would have definitely had a shock.”

Police said no one was injured in the crash on the A3075 near Newquay, Cornwall.
