Job hunting these days can be difficult, especially if you don’t have experience in the industry you want to join. But you’d be surprised to learn how many jobs are currently available in Cornwall that don’t require your CV to be filled with years of relevant previous experience.

I’ve looked around for a few workplaces that look beyond experience and focus more on the can-do attitude of their employees when hiring candidates. From working as a housekeeper to helping out at Cornwall’s leading hospital as a laboratory assistant, there could be a role that’s right up your street.

Whether you’re looking to get your foot into your desired industry or want to change jobs, there are plenty of good reasons why you might want to find a job that doesn’t require experience, but a willingness to learn.

Description: Some of the main duties of the role include: assisting chefs in the kitchen, preparing meals during service, helping with deliveries, measuring ingredients, preparing vegetables and meat, cleaning stations and serving customers’ meals. Previous experience is preferred but not essential as full training would be provided.

Medical Laboratory Assistant – Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust

Location: Truro

Description: The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske, is looking for a Laboratory Nurse to work in the Blood Sciences department. The purpose of the position is to provide laboratory, clerical and data entry support and reception coverage as part of a laboratory team. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
