Leeds United mass exodus revealed as six more players could join 11-man departure list

Leeds United face a major rebuild if they are to successfully push for promotion, with Daniel Farke set to form a new team after narrowly missing out last season.

After Leeds’ heartbreaking 1-0 defeat by Southampton in the Championship play-off final, the Whites have already lost 11 players and a further six players could join this already long list of departures.

Connor Roberts (Burnley) and Jaidon Anthony (Bournemouth) have returned to their parent clubs after loan spells at Leeds last season.

Luis Sinisterra’s move to Bournemouth has officially become final. Likewise, Marc Roca’s loan move to Spain’s Real Betis, while Robin Koch joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer after his successful loan spell with the Bundesliga side.

Ian Poveda and Lewis Bate were both released at the end of their contracts, while Jack Harrison exercised his clause in his contract to join Everton on a season-long loan deal for the second consecutive season.

Young striker Sonny Perkins also left Leeds on loan to join League One side Leyton Orient for the 2024/25 season, and Leeds also lost experience with Luke Ayling joining Middlesbrough and Stuart Dallas retiring due to injury.

Leeds have made new offers to Jamie Shackleton, Cody Drameh and Liam Cooper, but there has been no confirmation whether any of those players have signed those contracts. The current contracts of all three players expired yesterday, so they too could join the 12 players already through the exit door.

Diego Llorente, who recently returned from a loan spell with Roma, could join Real Betis this week, while England Under-21 international defender Charlie Cresswell looks set to join Toulouse in a deal worth around £3.8m.

And of course teenage starlet Archie Gray’s mooted move to Tottenham Hotspur will hurt Leeds United fans the most, with the 18-year-old having completed his medical ahead of a deal said to be worth between £25-£30 million pounds.

The upshot for Leeds is that Joe Rodon, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Whites last season, is expected to return to the club in a separate deal worth around £10m.

Rodon’s arrival will be the first in a major rebuild for Farke this summer, with Leeds already favorites to win the Championship title next season.
