The report reveals the number of signings the Reds will make this summer

Liverpool are expected to make a maximum of three summer signings for Arne Slot’s debut campaign, according to a recent report.

It promises to be an interesting summer for the Reds, regardless of the incomings and outgoings, with new head coach Slot taking over his first pre-season with the club.

The 45-year-old will attend his first press conference in Liverpool on Friday, having already given his first interview on Merseyside.

He will need time to assess his squad ahead of the new season, which will prove a challenge given that many of his brightest stars are currently on international duty.

As a result, Liverpool may be more active in the transfer market towards the end of the window, with very few moves so far.

However, any supporters expecting a flurry of activity are unlikely to be satisfied as Liverpool prepare for a maximum of three first-team signings, according to a report from Football Insider.

They suggest that – as should always be the case – Liverpool will only give the green light for the right players, with the potential for three new additions to the first team.

Liverpool are said to be already working on several deals behind the scenes, but are largely happy with the state of their current squad.

The Reds usually prefer to do their business early in the window and are generally proactive when the right opportunity arises, but a change in management and structure will likely force them to alter their plans.

WHO COULD LIVERPOOL SIGN THIS SUMMER?

Liverpool have been fairly quiet in the transfer market so far, although not too many of Europe’s elite have been too busy considering how much top talent is involved in international competitions.

But if the Reds are to enter the market soon, they could be looking to add a new centre-half and winger to their ranks.

Khvicha Kvaratskelia and Nico Williams are among the forwards who have been linked with Liverpool, but both deals would prove expensive and difficult to pull off. A move for either could hinge on Luis Diaz’s future.

Anthony Gordon has been heavily linked with a return to Merseyside in recent days, but signing the former Everton man looks just as complicated.

In terms of defensive additions, Leny Yoro was the surest tie. However, the young Lille star is expected to hold out for a move to Real Madrid.

There have also been suggestions that Liverpool will not strengthen the centre-back department despite Joel Matip leaving on a free this summer.
