Coventry City man set to join ‘ambitious’ League One club amid medical and personal conditions

Coventry City striker Matty Godden is set to join Charlton Athletic after the two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee for the player.

The Sun reported at the weekend that the Sky Blues are ready to sell the ‘highest bidder’ leader, newly promoted Oxford United, also declaring an interest in the services of former Peterborough United.

But the 32-year-old was at League One Charlton on Monday having a medical and agreed personal terms ahead of a move to The Valley being confirmed.

“Boss Nathan Jones wants a new striker as Alfie May leaves and Godden has a good record over the years.”
