Make hard towels soft and fluffy with an inexpensive and easy washing tip

When it comes to the often difficult task of laundry, especially washing items like towels, knowing the right technique is key to keeping them soft.

Unfortunately, towels that aren’t washed properly can become stiff and scratchy, making them less comfortable to use.

Even a minor mistake, such as using too much detergent or fabric softener, can affect the softness of towels, resulting in a rough or rough feel.

A cleaning enthusiast looking for advice on this very issue has posted on the Mrs Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook group.

Rob Whiting asked: “How do you keep your towels soft? Ours were made like a hard brick. We don’t have a clothes dryer, the towels are usually placed over an electric fan,” Express reports.

Eager to offer their guidance, numerous members of the group responded, many suggesting the use of soda crystals as a solution.

Jane Herd explained: “Don’t use fabric softener, use baking soda crystals instead. I don’t have a dryer either so I hang mine on the line, but definitely softer than fabric softener, also comes out much more clean.”

Katie Paterson shared: “I wash with soda crystals. I’ve been doing this for 30 years and never had a problem with hard towels. My husband likes hard towels though.”
