Swindon Pride is going ahead as organizers appeal for volunteers

This year’s Pride event in Swindon has been given the green light, with organizers now appealing for volunteers to come and help run the celebrations.

Run by charity Swindon and Wiltshire Pride, which was a finalist in last week’s British LGBT Awards, the event takes place on August 10 at GWR Park and includes a parade and musical performances.

Organizers said volunteers are needed the day before and will do things like triage, pick up trash and set up.

Acts on the day include the likes of UK Drag Race Victoria Scone, X Factor icons Cheeky Girls and a Taylor Swift tribute.
