Man charged after stabbing at Surrey attraction

A suspect has been charged after a man was injured in a stabbing at Thorpe Park.

Two groups of people were involved in an altercation on the bridge near the exit of the theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, on Saturday afternoon.

A 26-year-old man was treated for a stomach injury and is now recovering at home. No one else was hurt.

Craig Harakh, 26, of Lambeth, London, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon following the July 18 knife attack.

Harakh was remanded in custody and will appear at Staines Crown Court via video link on Wednesday.

Thorpe Park reopened earlier this month on July 4 after being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
