Wakefield Trinity set for ‘four or five’ more signings before 2025 – Total Rugby League

WAKEFIELD TRINITY are set to sign “four or five” more players ahead of the 2025 season.

The West Yorkshire club have been one of the biggest spending sides in the Championship in recent history, with the likes of Mike McMeeken, Tom Johnstone and Olly Russell set to join the club for next season, while the likes of Lachlan Walmsley, Jermaine McGillvary and Ky . Rodwell joined for this year.

In an interview with the club’s YouTube channel, manager of recruitment and salary cap Ste Mills revealed more will be coming through the doors at Belle Vue ahead of next season.

“We’re excited, we’ve got a lot more to announce, we’re still four or five players away from what we’ve already secured that hasn’t been announced and we’re still working on a few things,” Mills said.

“These are exciting times for Wakefield, obviously there are a few more signings from our current squad yet to be announced, with Thomas (Doyle) already there and obviously Caleb (Uele) so a few more and Ky (Rodwell) .

“So we’ve got a few more of them and we feel like we’re building a really nice squad for next year, so it’s an exciting time for everyone.”

Wakefield have taken that feel-good factor from the pitch to the pitch, with Daryl Powell’s side currently top of the Championship table after an unbeaten start to their first tier two campaign since 1998.
