Jowitt was one of the players who rushed to sign his future Wakefield Trinity even when it looked certain they would be relegated and has retained his status as a fan favorite as a result.

Having missed much of the 2023 Super League season through injury, Jowitt has been incredible in 2024 and will be looking to continue that in 2024. He leads the league table with 148 points, 34 more than the his closest rival, thanks to his eight. attempts and goal kicks.

Inside: Jermaine McGillvary and Tom Johnstone

Wakefield Trinity are spoiled for choice on the wing, but one man who is certain to start is Tom Johnstone, with the England international signing for the Catalans Dragons club. He has penned a four-year deal to return to Belle Vue, but who he will play with is a more difficult question.

Veteran Jermaine McGillvary is just four tries away from the 200 Super League mark and the 36-year-old hasn’t slowed down this year, scoring six for Trin. He will be pushed by speedster Lachlan Walmsley and former Leeds and Cas man Derrell Olpherts, who has found immense form in the Championship with nine tries in his last four games.

Centers: Cam Scott and Oliver Pratt

Cam Scott is one of the latest Super League signings Wakefield Trinity have made for next year, his arrival sparking a backlash from Hull FC fans suggesting he only signed for the money. It’s more likely that he signed because of the club’s ambition, instead, with Scott set to be a starting center in a team that looks very progressive.

He will partner with youngster Ollie Pratt, who is incredibly highly regarded by Wakefield Trinity and has shown exactly why this season. At just 19, he has a lot of growing to do, but is doing so at a rapid pace and, like Olpherts, has hit form, scoring four in his last five.

Wakefield Trinity’s latest signing is Huddersfield playmaker Olly Russell, with the left-handed maestro penning a mammoth four-year deal, indicating he is at the forefront of their plans to replace Luke Gale.

Mason Lino has shown his class in the Championship and has previously done so in Super League, with Trinity likely to keep him as one of their overseas players.

Props and Prostitute: Mike McMeeken, Renouf Atoni, Cain Robb

Mike McMeeken followed fellow British international Tom Johnstone from the south of France to West Yorkshire and Wakefield. It will now mean Trin will have two England internationals in the next four years, something that has not happened for a very long time, as head of recruitment Ste Mills pointed out, a statement of intent from the Championship leaders.

Partnering him would be Renouf Atoni, who has made it his own this season and also earned himself a contract extension in the process. Signing before the 2023 season, it looks like he just took more time to adjust, but now he’s looking every bit the quality signing they hoped he would be.

At hooker Trinity have a number of players in the squad with Thomas Doyle one of the younger talents there at 25, however Wakefield should make a play for youngster Cas Cain Robb. With Liam Horne extending his contract, Robb (who also recently re-signed) could be easier to take on and give Trin some Super League experience and youth behind veteran Liam Hood. Alternatively, they go to the other end of the spectrum and sign another Catalans player and former England international Micky McIlorum, however he would be 37 by the time the season started making this unlikely.

Second Row and Free Forward: Isaiah Vagana, Matty Storton and Ky Rodwell

Wakefield Trinity have plenty of bodies in their pack but are still looking to add to it with reports suggesting Hull KR’s Matty Storton will be heading to Belle Vue to join the club. He will enter the second row and compete with the likes of Josh Griffin, Matty Ashurst, Caleb Uele, Luke Bain, Mathieu Cozza, Jay Pitts and Toby Boothroyd.

The man who could come to the fore is the son of former Bradford Bulls man Joe Vagana and son Isaiah has impressed for the club so far. Another overseas import Ky Rodwell, who previously played for the Parramatta Eels, is very adept at free forward as a committee approach for Powell’s pack.
