Habitat for Humanity Cornwall Launches Second Annual Grateful Shed Raffle to Support Affordable Housing

Cornwall, ON – Habitat for Humanity Cornwall & The Counties is making significant progress in its mission to provide affordable housing, with three new homes under construction this year. Following the successful completion of two homes in Maxville, another is currently underway in the same area. To support this ambitious project, the organization is raising funds through the second annual Grateful Shed Raffle.

Last year’s Grateful Shed raffle was a major success, raising over $6,000 to support affordable housing efforts. This year, the stakes are even higher with over $7,800 worth of prize money generously donated by local businesses. Package Included:

  • An 8’x12′ shed from Old Hickory Sheds in Cornwall
  • A grill from The Brick
  • A $200 gift card from Cardinal & Son Wholesale
  • A trio of CAT tools from Fines Home Hardware
  • A propane tank and grilling tools from P38 Energy
  • A bistro and pizza oven set from Cornwall BMR
  • A cooler and Yeti from Cornwall Peavey Mart
  • Outdoor decor and a gift card from Marlin’s Orchard
  • Outdoor games and equipment from Cornwall ReStore

5th Line Transportation played a key role in coordinating the delivery of the shed to the Cornwall ReStore, where it is now on display.

The raffle will culminate in a live draw on September 30 at 3pm at the Cornwall ReStore. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase at the ReStore located at 1400 Vincent Massey Drive, or by calling 613-938-0413 ext. 204. In addition, tickets will be sold at various community events throughout the summer. With only 1,500 tickets printed, fans are encouraged to purchase them early.

Raffle proceeds will directly support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing. The funds will be used to purchase essential building materials for the current construction of the Ingleside home for the Jimenez family.
