NRL Vegas squads revealed and Super League involvement update

NRL Super League Las Vegas

The NRL teams to play in Las Vegas next year have been revealed – and there has been an update on the possible involvement of two of Super League’s top clubs.

The first professional rugby league matches in the States were played in the first round of the 2024 NRL season as more than 40,000 fans turned out for the historic doubleheader.

The Sydney Roosters, Brisbane Broncos, Manly Sea Eagles and South Sydney Rabbitohs took part.

The NRL has since been interested in returning for the 2025 season and the four teams to play next year will be confirmed this week.

According to Australia’s Courier Mail, those teams will be the Canberra Raiders, Penrith Panthers, NZ Warriors and Cronulla Sharks; It has long been rumored that these parts are the most important to take part in the event.

The Panthers have been particularly interested in moving a home game away from their usual ground, CommBank Stadium, as it is being rebuilt at the end of the 2024 season.

This year saw plenty of prominent figures Down Under suggesting how Super League could help grow the game.

A large number of fans have traveled to the 2024 Vegas games from the United Kingdom, which has caught the attention of senior NRL officials.

The RFL told Serious About Rugby League: “The possibility of Great Britain’s involvement in Las Vegas is one of a number of areas we have discussed positively with the NRL in recent months.”

England’s women’s team is already set to play Australia in the event, but two Super League teams are also expected to play each other.

According to AAP News, as expected, Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves are the most likely sides to attend.

The Wolves, coached by South Sydney Rabbitohs legend Sam Burgess, are a logical choice and the Warriors, who currently hold all four major trophies, will be well known to the Australian public largely thanks to their World Club Challenge win over Penrith . Panthers.

The game would of course be a ‘replay’ of this year’s Challenge Cup final.
